CAP Concussion Safety Standard will be Implemented to HDC’s Youngest Athletes

Calgary, Alberta – March 26, 2019 – CAP Corporation (CAP) and Hockey Development Centre (HDC) announced today their partnership to implement CAP to HDC athletes starting as young as four years old.

HDC is a state-of-the-art sports training and recreational facility providing professional on-ice and off-ice athletic development. The facility serves as a one-stop-shop for the physical and intellectual development of players and coaches. They provide on-ice, off-ice and classroom training for all athletes seeking quality sports development. HDC is committed to improving the development of young athletes both physically and mentally.

“HDC is about improving our young athletes both mentally and physically, so partnering with CAP furthers that commitment. We are implementing the program to take a proactive approach to reduce the risk and prevent concussions before they occur at the very beginning of our athlete’s sports life,” stated Sean McCarry.

Kim Adolphe, CAP CEO commented, “From the moment you walk in the door you know HDC is a shining example of how to do things right. Their facility is spectacular, and their programs and accolades speak for themselves. We are very excited to implement CAP to HDC’s youngest athletes because we know the earlier you start them in CAP, the more resistant they are for life!”

About CAP Corporation

CAP (Concussion Active Prevention) Corporation is a science driven social enterprise that has developed a disruptive technology offering not only a new and complementary approach to concussion prevention in sports, but an important one. CAP’s novel and patented innovation offers the sports world the feasibility to dramatically reduce the severity of concussions before they occur by changing the athlete; beyond the technical advances currently implemented in sport.

The RAM Test and CAP technology is the only platform of its kind in the world; one that measures neck function relative to sport-specific performance to assess concussion risk, and mitigate that risk with scientifically designed, sport specific exercises, independently tailored for the specific nuances of the athlete, and on a case-by-case basis regardless of gender, age, sport, or physical morphology. We have developed a scientifically validated safety standard we believe all athletes in high risk sports should meet to lower the risk and mitigate concussions before they occur.
