COGNITIVE HARMONY™

All Cognitive Harmony programs are designed to help rebuild and/or enhance cognition and brain function leading to faster cognitive processing, improved memory, better sleep, increased alertness, and less mental tension.

SPECIALIZATIONS

The CAP Cognitive Harmony Program addresses a wide variety of cognitive functions and is designed to rebuild and/or enhance your brain function through music and art.

Cognitive Harmony™ 4 Sports Brain Optimization

Harmonious interaction between the brain and the environment is at the heart of physiological health, cognitive function, academic performance, and mental wellness. Physical exercise is recognized as the single largest cognitive enhancement stimulus.

CAP has designed specialized physical brain training exercises to develop and enhance cognitive function. Cognitive attributes are challenged through physical activities which rely heavily on specific aspects of brain communication. The exercises are designed to increase physical ability by enhancing cognitive communication.

This program will:

  • develop physical attributes including speed, timing, focus, and rhythm to a higher level of neurological complexity than possible through training or playing the game,
  • improve academic performance and,
  • provide prophylactic measures for long-term brain health.

Speed Metric Example

The Speed metric is associated to the function of the frontal-striatal lobe, specifically the basal ganglia’s ability to signal activity in the frontal lobe. This “cognitive circuit” controls the ability to initiate voluntary motion at a high degree of intensity (peak contractile force) as well as inhibitory pathways to control momentum.

For athletes seeking ultimate improvements in their performance, we can measure the dormant areas in their athletic potential using the Brain Gauge technology to develop new and unthinkable levels of performance.

Cognitive Harmony Sports Brain Optimization free zoom sessions will be hosted by Sherwin Ganpatt and special guest Dampy Brar, Wednesdays beginning January 27th from 6:00 to 6:45. Sign up at caphealthforlife.com/zoom-sports.

Athletes can get tested at CAP Health or Find a Certified CAP Partner here.

Athletes will need a hand gripper, or small rubber ball as a substitute, a brock string (long string with beads spaced out) and 3 favorite scents you can find in the home such as lemons, garlic, herbs, mint, coffee, or chocolate.

Cognitive Harmony™ 4 Addiction

Harmonious interaction between the brain and the environment is at the heart of physiological health, addiction, and mental wellness. Physical exercise is recognized as the single largest cognitive enhancement stimulus that sensitizes you to your body and emotional state.

Cognitive Harmony is best suited if you are currently in treatment or have completed a treatment program for substance use disorder or behavioral addiction and seeking additional support during your recovery. This program is recommended after the acute withdrawal phase has concluded.

CAP has designed specialized physical and sensory-based brain training exercises to develop and enhance cognitive function. Cognitive attributes are challenged through physical activities which rely heavily on specific aspects of brain communication. The exercises are designed to keep the mind active and engaged while positively influencing thought patterns and behaviours over time.

During and after the cognitive training sessions, through repetition and practice you will entrain your brain to feel an improved sense of connectedness and harmony with yourself and those around you.

We assess your cognitive communication ability to ensure that progress and emotional control can be successfully rehabilitated and enhanced.

This program is taught by Dr. Riley Anderson, a licensed naturopathic doctor with a clinical focus on substance use disorders, behavioural addictions, and mood disorders. He received his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and Doctor of Naturopathy from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. He is one of the few naturopathic doctors in Western Canada committed to treating addictions and associated mental health conditions. As an expert in habit building and creating positive change, both professionally and personally, Dr. Anderson understands the complexities of human behaviors and motivation and is committed to helping patients regain their autonomy which he personally practices every day.

Plasticity Metric Example

The Plasticity metric is associated with the ability to learn and adapt to new patterns of thought. All other metrics are highly reliant on this metric to facilitate successful rehabilitation.

Participants will need Heart Math, Muse, between 10 and 20 scents, a small trampoline, wobble board, and bongo drums. (All these are ideal but optional.)

Cognitive Harmony™ 4 Mental Wellness

Harmonious interaction between the brain and the environment is at the heart of physiological health and mental wellness. Physical exercise is recognized as the single largest cognitive enhancement stimulus that sensitizes you to your body and emotional state. Learning how to keep the brain active and engaged is a key component of mental health.

Cognitive Harmony 4 Mental Wellness is intended for anyone experiencing mental health symptoms including, but not limited to, feelings of depression, anxiety, or recent changes in mood. You may join the program for your own wellbeing, or to learn how to support the mental health of a colleague, friend, or family member.

CAP has designed specialized physical and sensory-based brain training exercises to develop and enhance cognitive function. Cognitive attributes are challenged through physical activities which rely heavily on specific aspects of brain communication.

The Cognitive Harmony program utilizes movement, music, and art to target specific areas of the brain that are heavily implicated in mental health disorders. These exercises are designed to promote mindfulness and to positively influence thought patterns and behaviors over time.

During and after training sessions you will feel an improved sense of connectedness and harmony with yourself and those around you. We can also assess your functional brain health to ensure that positive emotional improvements can occur. Contact us for testing.

Accuracy and Plasticity Metric Example

Changes in the Accuracy and plasticity metrics are indicative of alterations in the function of/ or a deficit in GABA, an important neurotransmitter related to maintaining a calm, happy and relaxed state of being.

Participants will need Heart Math, Muse, between 10 and 20 scents, a small trampoline, wobble board, and bongo drums. (All these are ideal but optional.)
